It's time to get ready for Pride 2009!
13 May 2009The Year of Marriage Equality in Vermont! The 40th anniversary of Stonewall. Here in Vermont, we truly have so much to celebrate. The Pride Committee is working very hard to make this year’s Festival a celebration that honors the courage and conviction of those who have come before us, paving the way for the progress we’ve made in the 40 years since the Stonewall Riots.
There is a lot to do. Pride is a celebration for all of us, but it cannot happen without broad community support and grass-roots fundraising.
Pride is looking for volunteers statewide who would like to host Pride Potlucks within their community of friends. It’s easy! Arrange a date and time for your friends to gather, enjoy food prepared by your friends, and pass the hat in the spirit of Pride. Just remember every little bit helps, and if we all give a little, it goes a long way!
If you have other fundraising ideas and need our help, contact Chris and David, Pride’s fundraising committee by clicking here.
If you are a local business and you want to show your Pride, consider being part of the Parade, Festival, or place an ad in the Pride Guide. Check out the 2009 Pride Vermont sponsorship and advertising Menu!
If you cannot host a Potluck or assist financially, there are still tons of ways you can help! Volunteers are also needed for the Parade and for Setup/Breakdown on July 25th. If you’d like to help, send us an email!
The wheels are turning. Check back often for updates on upcoming Pride Events!
Thank YOU!
